Apple may receive another blow: one of the company's latest products may be banned in the United States

Despite Apple's attempts to downplay the spying potential of its AirTag smart tracker, which has been rumored since the day it was announced, the device may soon be outlawed in the United States. A bill has been introduced in the US Ohio House of Representatives that would criminalize the use of the AirTag tracker and its analogues to secretly track people, reports AppleInsider.

During the first year of sale, the device became the hero of the news on many occasions regarding the tracking of people and cars, with subsequent thefts of the latter. If passed, the practice is likely to be adopted by other states and even countries. After all, Apple apparently has no plans to stop making the scandalous finder.

Unlike its competitors, in the tracker, Apple will use not only the Bluetooth interface, but also its own UWB connection, which will communicate with the U1 chip in the iPhone. This will increase tracking accuracy and allow you to see the location of objects even if the distance is greater than the range of Bluetooth communication. The operation of the tracker is quite simple - AirTag maintains contact with the user's phone, which continuously records the location data. When the connection is lost, on the screen a warning message appears, and a person can check where the item was left in the Find My app at any time.At that time, if the object is lost in the room or in the immediate environment, the Precision Finding function will lead to it with sound, vibration and on-screen directions , similar to the "Hot-Cold" game

Although the tracker has no GPS or SIM card, in the event of theft or loss of an item across town, it will be located by other users' nearby Apple devices that also have the U1 chip. Of course, all tracking of this device is completely protected and private.
