E. Musk shares an unusual message: he calls on Europe to return to the use of nuclear power plants

Tesla and SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk has posted an unusual message on Twitter, suggesting that Europe should "overload" its nuclear power plants for national and international security reasons.

"I hope that it is now clear that Europe should reopen the dormant nuclear power plants and increase the capacity of the existing ones. This is necessary for national and international security," he said.

According to E. Musk, fears about nuclear energy are exaggerated. As the businessman said on the social network, he is ready to eat food grown near the nuclear power plant in front of the cameras. “I did this in Japan many years ago, shortly after Fukushima. The radiation risk is much, much lower than many people think,” he said.

There is currently no consensus on nuclear energy in the European Union. Germany plans to close all nuclear power plants operating in the country by the end of this year. France has decided against it and plans to build a number of new ones, although until recently it was planning to abandon peaceful nuclear power.
